IMPORTANT: If you find a dog or cat, you might want to call the local radio station to see
if they will run a “Found” ad for you. AND some local papers will run free “Found”
ads too. Place posters with pictures where people gather, like post office, restaurants, laundromats, libraries–anywhere there is a bulletin board.
Check with rescue organizations in your area to see if anyone has reported a lost pet and let your local police and dog enforcement agent know that you have found a pet in the event someone reports the animal lost. If there are license tags on the animal, then you can call the Treasurer’s office of the county listed on the tag–they keep a database of owners who have licensed their pets.
We will be happy to post the found pet information to the Clarion PAWS FaceBook page also.
